Laura A. Peri is Rodney E. Soher Curator of Western Asiatic Antiquities at The Israel Museum, Jerusalem, and a doctoral student at the Institute of Archaeology of the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Born in Romania in 1972 and having immigrated to Israel in 1990, she graduated from the University of Haifa and received her MA degree from the Institute of Archaeology of the Hebrew University. Her doctoral dissertation, being writing under the supervision of Prof. Tallay Ornan, deals with various aspects of the Mitannian glyptics from the southern Levant. Her scholarly work, published in several papers, excavations reports and exhibition catalogues, focuses on the art of the ancient Near East in general and Canaan/southern Levant/Israel-Palestine in particular, in its archaeological, historical and cultural contexts.
