Hélène Sader is Professor of Archaeology at the American University of Beirut. Her research focuses on the Iron Age of Syria, mainly the history of the Aramaean kingdoms. The archaeology of the Lebanon with special interest in Phoenician history, archaeology, and epigraphy as well as the endangered heritage of Lebanon are her other research areas. She has co-directed several archaeological projects in Lebanon: The BEY 020 site in the Beirut Central District, Tell Fadous-Kfarabida, Tell el-Burak, and the Tell Kubba projects. She has served twice as chairperson of the Department of History and Archaeology and as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Beirut.
