Constantine S.-D. Ananiades is a Classical Archaeologist interested in various aspects of the history and culture of the Greek Geometric, Archaic and Classical periods. He obtained his BA (Hons), MA and PhD in Classical Archaeology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has completed two terms as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Historical Research at the National Hellenic Research Foundation (IHR/NHRF), having previously participated in various research programs with the IHR/NHRF, including Histos, Aristeia I-II, Reach, Pandektes I-II, The Archaeology of the City of Athens, The Greek East Programme, and Kyrtou Plegmata. He is the Chief Scientific Officer of Greek Pottery from the Early Iron Age to the Roman era in the National Archive of Monuments of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture. Among other projects, he is currently working on a two-volume publication of his doctoral thesis entitled Kalathoi and Kalathoid Vases in Attic Vase-Painting and Their Iconography (10th-4th Cent. B.C.). An updated and expanded edition of the first volume of the thesis will appear as The Attic Kalathos and its Derivatives.
