Artemis Georgiou completed her doctoral dissertation at the University of Oxford in 2013. She received a European funded Marie Sklodowska Curie Career Integration grant for her project “ARIEL” (Archaeological Investigations of the Extra-urban and urban Landscapes of eastern Mediterranean: a case-study at Palaepaphos-Cyprus), which was implemented at the University of Cyprus between the years 2013-2017. Dr Georgiou has participated in archaeological excavations in both Greece and Cyprus, such as Palaepaphos, Pyla-Kokkinokremos, Kalavasos-Ayios Dhimitrios, Maroni-Vournes, Lefkandi-Xeropolis and Mycenae-East House. She specializes in the pottery production of Late Bronze Age Cyprus and the Aegean and has worked as a ceramologist in numerous archaeological projects. Her research interests lie on the politico-economic landscape of Cyprus and the interconnections with the eastern Mediterranean during the Late Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age. She is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Archaeological Research Unit, University of Cyprus.
